The Adventures of CB Rabbit (Coloring Book, 1977)

Last summer I came across this doozy of a find at a yard sale.  I had thought to keep it as-is but had to think of my older brother in mind who was a truck driver anyway and this suited him more than for the 1970's kitsch I bought it for.  I did however take photos of this masterpiece and put it on display for any of you not blessed by it's presence (iron-on T-shirt transfer not included).  A few pages had been colored though I hope my brother never lets his offspring lay one Crayola on this baby if he's smart enough.

Chris, I almost feel like printing out these images and colouring them in. I've got a couple of Batman colouring books from the '60s that I'm tempted to take some colour pencils to as well.

It's funny because there are people who do collect coloring books that are not used. I found a Magilla Gorilla one at an estate sale last year too that appeared to be unused.

It's was still quite hard to part with this though I had no intentions on coloring it anyway, I just sorta like the kitsch with the CB radios and truckers and all. It was so of-the-period. My brother use to watch those movies like Convoy and Smokey and the Bandit and simply fell in love with trucks.

I had this book around 1978! Great to read it again. I remember most the Lingo page, yes, as a six year old, I knew I would need to remember XYL for when I got married.

That's cool to hear Jack! Too bad I don't have this book anymore. I thought my brother deserved it more than I did, though he promised he would not let his kids ruin it anyway. I personally would've loved to color in that one of the fox splayed over the bush after the crash! The character already looked like he came out of Song of the South the way some of the characters appear in this, mixed with the 1970's southern trucking scene.

Hey Chris, I am hoping you can help me out. I have one of these comics that has not been colored in and still has it's iron on transfer. I work at a second hand store that donates it's profits to a village in Laporte, IN. That helps developmentally disabled adults (sharefoundation.org). Any idea how much it might be worth? We try to be as fair as possible so we can get as much moolah to the organization as we can. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

@Unknown,

I really don't know how much this would be at all, I paid a buck for it when I found it at a yard sale and I only gave it to my brother as a Xmas present.

I would love to see the iron-on transfer our copy has though, if there's any way you could link to a photo/scan of it, please do, it will compliment this post!
